Cambridge Science Festival: Book talk, panel discussion and more!

Cambridge Science Festival: Book talk, panel discussion and more!

Long Now Boston will be hosting three sessions at the Cambridge Science Festival, the week of Sept 23-29, 02024: a panel discussion, a book talk, and an open drop-in table.

Long Now Boston is partnering with the Cambridge Science Festival to host several free events during the festival:

  • A book talk by Laura Forlano and Danya Glabau, authors of the new book Cyborg, which analyzes and reframes popular and scholarly conversations about cyborgs and the future of humanity from the perspective of feminist cyborg theory. It promises to be eye-opening and fascinating! Free tickets now available: register now!

  • We'll have a panel discussion with members of Long Now Boston on Why Think Long Term? We'll investigate several pressing questions around the long term:

    • Dangers of short term thinking

    • Deep history

    • Deep future

    • How to escape the short-term mindset

    • How to become a better ancestor: embrace deep time, create future options, stay humble, embrace change, lifelong learning

    • Limited free tickets are still available: register here!

  • We'll also have a table going most of the week where people can drop in and engage with members on various topics of interest including the 10,000 year clock and Long Now thinking.
